CrossCode now on Steam in Early Access!By R.D. | Published May 16, 2015
Yes, we did it. Enter the hype.
Today we officially announce our release on Steam and our cooperation with Deck13! After a long wait and a bumpy ride we’re finally on Steam.
If you haven’t already backed at least 15€ in the crowdfunding campaign, click on the image to get to the Steam store page and get your Early Access! We have an exclusive offer running until 22th May (my birthday, coincidence? I think not). You can get the Early Access for 16,99 bucks. After the 22th the price is going to be 19,99 €/$.
All the backers will get their steam key in the next week. We would love to give it to you right now but as mentioned in the previous update, our team is currently attending the RPC in Cologne, Germany. Once everyone is back, we can finally roll out the Steam keys!
And if you’re wondering if we add Steam features like Achievements or Trading Cards… We sure want to! Achievements are something we will work on in the next month! Get ready Achievement Hunters!
So, keep an eye on your inbox for your CrossCode Steam Key! Of course we also know that some people prefer DRM-Free alternatives, which we plan to work on that soon, too.
Now let’s talk about something some of you might already have noticed. On the Steam page you can see that we actually work together with Deck13. Deck13 is a company that publishes and develops games here in Germany. Some of you might know them as the developers/publishers behind Lords of the Fallen! These guys are really amazing to help us out with marketing and setting up the shop for CrossCode. However, this does not mean that the game will change! We are still doing the game we want! We know that publishers are sometimes viewed with caution but Deck13 are a bunch of really awesome gals and guys that help us out with stuff we can’t possibly handle alone without sacrificing development time. Without them we wouldn’t even be on Steam right now, because we still want to participate in a scholarship for start-up companies here in Germany. One rule however is that we can’t form a company until the scholarship starts. Thanks to Deck13 we can provide you with Early Access AND participate in the scholarship, a true win-win scenario!
So TL/DR. Let’s all welcome Deck13!
Finally there will be a change regarding the online demo. Next week we will take the lengthy demo done and switch it with a shorter version which gives an overall impression of the game. We already talked a lot about this on stream and we think this is the best way to get more people to take a look without feeling overwhelmed. But we have nothing against you downloading the current state until then! However the online demo will receive no updates anymore (We may change it before release to showcase new features).
Alright, this is all everyone! Expect regular CrossCode updates again, soon.
